Concrete Canvas (CC) is a revolutionary construction product that has been primarily used for water management and erosion control projects in the civil construction sector, but is beginning to attract great interest from architects and designers from around the world. Essentially, CC is a concrete impregnated fabric that hardens on hydration to form a thin, durable, water and fire proof concrete layer. The material allows the construction of bespoke organically shaped sections with double degrees of curvature. It is a unique material that juxtaposes the soft tactile qualities of a fabric with the inherent structural characteristics of concrete. CC is available in different thicknesses and is suitable for a range of colouring, surface and rendering treatments. The material offers UV, weathering, pollution and chemical resistance whilst the PVC backing acts as an integral moisture barrier.
